Hi! I’m Abby, a Chicago-based freelance textile conservator with experience in both fashion and flat textiles.
I am passionate about the decolonization of museum practices and producing collaborative and community-oriented research with source communities. My other research interests include indigenous dress and textiles, archaeological textiles, and materials analysis!
Before graduate school, I worked as a film costume designer in Chicago for three years. While I am no longer actively taking on film work, my costume design portfolio will remain online as a record of my past career!
